The planning committee has been working tirelessly to create a superb event experience in August – with both our Night of the Stars and the Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic events – that is both in line with CDC recommendations & the safety for our donors. At this time, both CvC events are scheduled to take place on their respective dates, however we do realize that with these uncertain times, things can change and our events may look a little different. Please stay tuned for more details – and keep an eye on our Celebration of Hope website, Facebook & Twitter page for the most up-to-date information.

Coach Mike Brey, head coach of the University of Notre Dame men's basketball team, has been an unwavering supporter of the American Cancer Society for over 24 years, beginning with his coaching career at the University of Delaware. Since coming to the University of Notre Dame in 2001, Coach Brey has brought his career CvC fundraising total to over $3.5 million! ALL funds support the life-saving mission of the American Cancer Society. And we are not stopping there.
A Celebration of Hope, hosted by Coach Mike Brey, encompasses the two signature events that Coach and the American Cancer Society host every year in August - Night of the Stars and the Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic.
This year, we kick-off the celebration on Monday, August 3, 2020 with the Night of the Stars at The Joyce Center at Purcell Pavilion - an event that honors extraordinary individuals who are making significant contributions to the fight against cancer.
Then, on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, we complete our CvC experience with the Coaches vs. Cancer Golf Classic, hosted at Blackthorn Golf Club. Our foursomes will have an unparalleled golf experience on the links, including shopping in player a gift suite, lunch, on-course games and premium Under Armour player giveaways.
For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s. Join us to help finish the fight.
